Important Clues that You and Your Christian Date are not Compatible
In some cases, people need more in common than just religion. While many people may assume that just because two people are Christian, they will hit it off well, but this is typically just not the case. There is so much more that goes into falling in love, and not everyone will be compatible. While it is true that opposites attract, this can only help a couple so much before real life starts to take a toll on the relationship and the individuals are tested on how much they believe in their own concepts and how much they respect your differing concepts.
For example, if you and your Christian date are having a great time, but you are not Christian, this might not work out – for you or your date. On the other hand, if you are both Christian this does not inherently mean that you are destined to spend your lives together in wedded bliss all the remaining years of your life. Unfortunately, many people need to have more in common than that in order to consider that they feel they are compatible with each other. For example, there are many different styles when it comes to a person’s sense of humor. Some people are sarcastic while some people are slapstick and so on. If two people do not share the same sense of humor, it will be less likely that they will be able to keep each other entertained and happy in the relationship since laughing and being content are such important values in a relationship.
Also, when it comes to having a partner throughout life, many people will want to have a family and have children. If a Christian person cannot or does not want to have children, this may conflict with their date on such a level that they will no longer see themselves as compatible since they will not be trying to attain the same end goals. It is not a good idea to wait and see, hoping to change the other person’s mind. If a person does this, they could just end up being more disappointed, hurt and lonely later on down the road. It is also important that these two people discuss the impact that they feel their relationship has on their lives.
Even if two people are Christian, one person may be more involved in the religion than the other, and they may want someone more on their own level when it comes to the religion. In addition, some Christians may believe in using birth control, either for pre-martial sex, or post-marital sex, and others will not. This will be another important point to consider since many people have differing ideas on the matter and this will likely affect the long term status of the pair. If you sit down with your partner and notice that you are butting heads on a lot of important topics, no matter how in love you are or how much you care about each other, you may not be compatible in the long run when it comes to keeping each other safe and happy and being able to love each other and the Lord in a way that is beneficial to everyone involved.
Noticing these signs early on will help individuals to actively have a part in what they want and demand from a partner instead of getting stuck in a relationship that is too different and too incompatible for the individuals involved in the relationship to actually make the union last in the long run. Instead, individuals should look for this early on in order to enable themselves to move on and find what they are really looking for in a partner.
