Five Fun Tips for Setting Up your Christian Friends on a Date

While there are certain things that would be fun for you to do to your friends that you are setting up on dates, such as not telling them that the individual they are being set up with is Christian, and instead insinuating that they are a part of some type of cult, but other than that really nice, most people are looking for fun tips that would be a little bit more constructive and helpful when it comes to doing such things.  Instead, focus on some tips that may actually be a little bit more substantial when it comes to the dating game and scene.  Especially when it comes to setting up two friends, it is very important to choose carefully.

After awkward blind dates, many people will often walk away thinking, “What on Earth made my friend think that I would be interested in someone like this”?  It is important not to think about the things that you see in your friend are positive traits.  Think about the other friend in general and then decide whether or not they would make a good pair.  This is the first fun tip when it comes to setting up Christian friends: make sure that they have some things in common and would appreciate each other regardless of who is setting them up and why.  They need to be able to stand on their own, on their own merit, and be able to appear as an attractive and well likely companion.  Not from your perspective, but from your friends’ perspectives in general.

Second, another fun tip is to make sure that they have seen pictures of each other.  While some people may mistake this to mean locate the most awkward pictures of your friends and show them to each other them, this is not what is meant.  Make sure to find some good pictures, and make sure that both the friends seem interested in each other before trying to pursue anything further.  This is a very important step that could potentially help save a great deal of time in the long run and in the short run.  Third, make sure to ask if there was anything of the utmost importance that they are looking for in their partners and then feel the other friend out for each.  This is a great way to test whether or not the individuals would actually be very compatible in the long run and it will also save the friends’ time if they are already aware as to whether or not their date is able to be successfully matched up with their ideal criteria.

This will improve your status not just as a matchmaker, but as a friend as well.  Fourth, it can be very helpful for you to ask each friend what it is that is most important to him or her about their faith.  On the date, this is also a neat question for the two of them to review together, simply so that they can be aware of how they each feel about certain aspects of the faith that they share.  Many people can appreciate this approach, and it helps the two of them to understand each other better as well.  Fifth, just encourage the two of them to have fun.  After all, this is what it is all about.  The majority of the focus on the date should be on having fun and encouraging the two individuals to have the most amount of fun together that they can have.  This is about being together and enjoying each other’s company and some people need to be reminded of this.
